Here are some aspects of life and ways you can begin to improve in them:
Emotional & Mental Well-being:
1. Optimism is the best and first step to bringing a positive change in your attitude. Looking at the brighter side doesn’t mean you ignore the bad parts of life, rather you accept them.
2. Distance yourself from negativity. If you feel anxious by negativity on the news your surroundings, or a person in your life, try to take a breather and stay away from it for a short while. This time and space will help you calm down and allow you to refresh your mind in the process.
3. Cut down on Procrastination. Procrastination is a habit that makes you unproductive, lazy, and unmotivated about work and other tasks. Make a to-do list for your daily tasks and try the Now or Never mindset to motivate yourself to complete them throughout the day.
Spirituality:
1. Try to help others. Try your best to do something for others daily. It doesn’t have to be a big gesture but just a nice one. Buy a coffee for a homeless person, carry an older person shopping, or listen to a co-worker worries and we guarantee you will feel happier and brighter after doing so.
2. Don’t rush. Try to take even the mundane parts of your life slowly like eating breakfast, walking, or spending time with your loved ones. It allows you to think clearly and be grateful for the simpler things in life.
3. Give your best. No matter what the task is, whether its related to work or a relationship problem, always give your 100%. This way even if you fail, you will have fewer regrets and no more nagging ‘what if’ thoughts.
Health:
1. A good and consistent sleeping schedule can do wonders for your physical as well as mental well-being. Getting to bed and waking up early makes you more optimistic and productive throughout the day.
2. 30 minutes of daily physical activity or exercise can boost your immune system and keep your cholesterol and stress levels in check. It also helps you maintain healthy body weight.
Diet:
1. Ensure to intake a balanced diet rich in vegetables, fruits, grains, vitamins and lean meat. Avoid saturated and trans fats to stimulate a healthier cardiovascular system and stable blood pressure.
2. Do not smoke. Smoking is harmful to both your heart and lungs. It can cause lung cancer and present other serious health risks. If you are already a smoker, you can find many ways to cut down and eventually quit smoking such as the start technique by clicking here .
3. Take alcohol in moderation or not at all. Alcohol has been known to increase the risk of cancer and the level of stress. It has little to no health benefits therefore we suggest avoiding drinking alcohol completely or ingesting alcohol occasionally if you must.
