The Paleo Diet is a lifestyle of health and wellness. It's not just any diet that aims at enabling you to be 3-4 size smaller, but it actually nourishes your mind and body. Wellness begins in the mind, which is a powerful entity on its own. The mind is the connection between the body and spirit. It requires being well fueled to work efficiently. Healthy fuel for the human mind is all that is positive, rejuvenating and all that which makes us feel good about ourselves. All that which makes us fall in love with ourselves, and be grateful for things we have. The three essentials of complete wellness are meditation, diet and fitness. The Paleo diet has the power to couple with focused meditation and body awareness to create a healthy gut which is the main source of fuel for the entire human system.
The Paleo Approach
This diet resembles what the first humans ate hundreds and thousands of years ago. It comprises all things closest to nature in their raw, whole forms because that is how they are meant to be taken. It's a fact that our ancestors followed a whole food-based diet and had physically active lives close to natural environments. Such a lifestyle is thought to be the reason behind their lower rates of diseases such as heart problems, obesity or diabetes. This approach is thus a great way to lose significant weight while improving your overall health and wellness.
What To Eat and What To Avoid?
Diets of the first humans varied extensively and depended on availability or location. What remained consistent was that they ate whole foods. Paleo Diet works on the same formula and promotes the consumption of whole foods and avoids processed food items.
You can eat meat, seafood, eggs, vegetables, fruits, tubers, nuts, seeds, healthy fats and oils, salts and spices. Everything that is raw, in its original form and a gift of nature can be consumed on a paleo diet. When it comes to things to keep away on a paleo diet, the simple formula is if it appears to come from a factory, just avoid it. Sugar, bread, pasta, some vegetable oils, trans fats, artificial sweeteners etc should not be eaten.
